How Drop C differs from Drop D
Drop C keeps the same interval shape as Drop D but places the complete guitar one whole step lower. The bottom three strings form C2, G2 and C3, while the upper strings continue F3, A3 and D4.
The lower tension may feel loose on light strings. Make gradual adjustments, mute unused strings and verify intonation after the open strings are stable.

How to tune accurately
- 1Lower the upper five strings to G2, C3, F3, A3 and D4.
- 2Select C2, pluck only the sixth string and loosen it gradually from E2 through D2 to C2.
- 3Confirm all six targets inside the green ±5-cent zone.
- 4Recheck the lowest strings after they settle; consider suitable string gauge if the setup feels excessively loose.
