Standard seven-string tuning, low to high

Standard seven-string tuning adds a low B1 beneath the six familiar guitar strings: B1, E2, A2, D3, G3, B3 and E4. The selector, visible string routes and seven tuning pegs all keep that physical low-to-high order.

Free mode follows the string being played. Selecting any string card or its exact peg switches to Auto mode and locks that target until the note remains inside the green ±5-cent zone for one second.

Four clear steps

How to tune accurately

  1. 1Start with the thickest seventh string and center it at B1.
  2. 2Continue through E2, A2, D3 and G3 while muting the strings you are not tuning.
  3. 3Finish with B3 and high E4, holding every reading within ±5 cents for one second.
  4. 4Make a second low-to-high pass after all seven strings have settled under tension.
Reference: A4 = 440 Hz

String 2 B3 246.94 Hz

Changing the tuner calibration recalculates every target from A4 = 415–450 Hz. The values above use the common 440 Hz reference.
