Traditional 12-string course order

The four lower courses place the thinner octave string first: E3/E2, A3/A2, D4/D3 and G4/G3. The B3/B3 and E4/E4 courses are unison pairs. tuner.love preserves that physical order across the selector, peg overlays and Auto traversal.

Tune each member separately while muting its partner. The active string and its exact tuning-peg silhouette glow blue while listening; a confirmed string turns green in the current Auto session.

How to tune accurately

  1. 1Choose a course, then select the individual Oct, Main or Uni member you want to tune.
  2. 2Mute the neighboring member and pluck only the selected physical string.
  3. 3Adjust the matching peg until the reading remains inside the green ±5-cent zone.
  4. 4Continue until all twelve exact peg outlines are confirmed green.

Frequently asked questions

Are the lower four 12-string courses tuned in octaves?

Yes. In Standard tuning the E, A, D and G courses pair a higher octave with the fundamental; B and high E are tuned in unison.

Why does the tuner show twelve targets instead of six?

Each physical string has its own peg and can drift independently. Auto mode therefore visits all twelve strings, including both members of every course.

Does tuner.love upload my microphone audio?

No. Pitch analysis runs locally in your browser. Microphone audio is not uploaded to a backend and is never replayed through your speakers.
