D major without fretting a chord
Open D contains the root D, fifth A and major third F♯ across the open strings. A barre at any fret moves the same complete major-chord shape while open D and A strings provide strong resonance.
Four strings move down from Standard: both E strings become D, G3 becomes F♯3 and B3 becomes A3. A2 and D3 remain unchanged.
How to tune accurately
