Choosing the right four-string banjo tuning
Standard tenor banjo uses C3 G3 D4 A4 in fifths. Irish tenor commonly moves lower to G2 D3 A3 E4, while Chicago tuning matches the top four guitar strings at D3 G3 B3 E4.
Plectrum tuning uses C3 G3 B3 D4. Choose the preset that matches the instrument scale, string set and repertoire before adjusting the pegs.
